writing this song was fucking gut wrenching... writing lyrics is the hardest part of writing music imo. i had the music to this sorted for so ling and just couldn't get out what i wanted to say. finally the chorus came, once i had the line enjoy the air up there. i actually wrote the majority of the forst verse at work in some down time after a really shit day. maybe that helped get it out, and yes tears were really falling and hitting what was at the time an empty page. i remember the first time i heard the solo darcy wrote for this song. it really really is the perfect fit. for a long time i couldn't hear this song without tears, will be interesting to see how i make it through live. a, because of the emotion, and b. because fuck it's fast.

The majority of it was written about my grandfather keith o'connell after he passed away. in the time it's taken to finish this record i also lost my other grandfather keith martin. this song is for all our lost love ones, and the memories we all have of them.
